I help people build coherent, sustainable worldviews. You could call it a “personal strategy,” “personal brand philosophy,” “personal ideology,” or even “personal religion.” Why is this necessary? It can be an exercise in personal marketing, but it is also a search for inner stability in an unstable world. A worldview is what gives you the confidence to live and move forward despite difficulties and obstacles, to choose a direction for development and stick to it. Talking about this is a way to move from thoughts to action, to find your unique path in a complex world, your Way.
In 2020, one of my clients asked me to help him write a motivational letter for admission to a program at MIT. In the process of “motivational excavations,” we found out that his parents were medical doctors and he had always dreamed of doing something related to medicine, even though he had never worked in healthcare himself. His previous startup, which he had successfully sold, manufactured payment terminals. In the end, he did not apply to MIT, but founded a new startup at the intersection of cancer diagnostics, microscopy and artificial intelligence. He is still successfully developing this startup.
I have a talent for turning complex data into narratives, and I have a strong grasp of psychology, communication and critical thinking. While creating a small 'personal myth' is not that difficult, making it coherent and consistent with both science and culturally shared facts, while also ensuring it can withstand scrutiny, is more challenging. That is my superpower.
We can just talk, but in my experience, it is much more productive to create something concrete: build a website, make a TEDx presentation, write a personal manifesto, a motivational letter to MIT, or a description of yourself for LinkedIn. The process of building a worldview is a conversation on twelve topics, the chapters of our book “Personality Strategy.”
1. What are my strengths?
2. What are my weaknesses, your shadow aspects?
3. What is my superpower?
4. Who are my teachers and role models?
5. Who are “my people”? Which group of people do I belong to?
6. What is the problem or threat? Who is the villain in this world?
7. Where do I see opportunities for us? What idea or technology could we bet on?
8. What is the worldview that I promote?
9. What principles do I consider timeless?
10. To ensure that good prevails, what practices should we implement?
11. What should we do right now? What is the plan?
12. What is my strategy for communicating my mission?
For the first conversation, you will need to bring the results of a Hogan psychometric assessment or Big5 / HEXACO + Dark Tetrad + Schwartz Values. Based on the results, we will plan our next steps. If necessary, I can help you purchase access to the Hogan questionnaire (it costs ~200 euros) or send you links to free psychometric tools.
